India (is) The Incredible Land

Soon, i will fly back to India. When you ask me why i always fly there..?. Sometime difficult to explain , it is like it is ...

Here some of reason why India always take me back :)

-The spirituality life there..

Spirituality and india is like a coin, two side can't saparated. Everyday is devotion, everytime is worship , everyhour is faith and everyminute is faithfulness. Almost everday around India have festival that celebrate in every reason and devotion. People live and breathe their spirituality. The idea of the divine exists everywhere in their lives and permeates every moment of the day.

Ritual marks most every aspect of their lives and it is fascinating to watch. Because many people travel to india to attand some festival. We need to make sure, about the date, place to stay and the transportation like air tickets , bus or railway. For foreigner like me, no need worried, we can do it all ONLINE. One famous website that usualy use by traveller to get cheap flight tickets around india is Makemytrip

-The India Sunrise...

I don't know why, but Sunrise in India always give me special feel. The light touch me so deeply bring happy feel inside like a new hope born. Wake up in the morning, sit outside, drink the hot chai and listening temple chant beside bring me peacefuly ambiance.

-Photographer’s paradise land...

Everything there is great object. So diversity in everypart. The people, the animal, the place, the culture, the history, the religion. Sometime the problem for me is India so big land and i don't have enough time to covered all. The easy way to travel throught there is by flight. There is some domestic flight like Jet Airways that i want to try in my next journey.

-The Food..

Just in India i can pay so cheap for my fav food. And yes with 10$ i can drink chai till die :)

Shooping time

Even the traditional market there so annoying , with patient and smile you will get what you want with the best price. I love the cloth, the colour of textile, the craft, and also religious stuff.

George Harrison

Yes, listening his song always make me miss India. One great quote from him that i love, "Everything else can wait, but the search for God cannot wait...". I always listen Harrison song on my playlist while travel around India. My Fav one is the song "Prabhujee"

India pulses, surges, vibrates, and makes you feel alive. Arriving in India, more than any other country. Your senses are overloaded with colors, shapes, sights, sounds, smells and tastes!

There is a lot of reason, I can not explain here with words , sometime sound not logic, that bring me feel India is my second home. I miss you India ...

The Surfers - Cimaja Beach West Java

" For those searching for something more than just the norm. We lay it all down, including what others call sanity, for just a few moments on waves larger than life. We do this because we know there is still something greater than all of us. Something that inspires us spiritually.. " (Laird Hamilton)

Loro Blonyo

When you visit Java area mybe you will found the wonderfull and mystic sculptured of central java called “loro blonyo’ which can be translated as “inseparable couple”

For the modern javenese community, they just know about the myth and beliefe of loro blonyo,. This pair statue will bring the harmony energy if we put it in the house of new bridegroom. But behind this, Loro Blonyo kept many spiritual belief story of Javanese ancient.

The women symbol of loro blonyo representing the goddess Sri, Sri was the goddess of fertility ans protectress of rice fields, hence a deity of great importance. She was clearly an adaptation of the Indian goddess Sri Devi, the female form of Vishnu and goddess of prosperity, fertility and beauty.
In this process of change the consort Sadono was added, apparently for no other purpose than to provide companionship for Sri, at least so far as the protection of rice fields was concerned; but his importance in the Javanese mind is suggested by the fact that Sri was never seen alone

Bowls, platters and lamps were placed about the goddess and her consort for their comfort. They would have held water, food, and sirih pinang/ betel nut, The oil lamp in the center was kept lit at all times.

Loro Blonyo is the Javanese words of “two become one”. Devi Sri and God Sadono are very much worshipped by Javanese rural community especially by the farmer. Traditional Javanese farmer feel very much attached to Devi Sri, as they called her “mother Sri”. The farmer believes that their crop is the gift of kindness from the Devi.

Before muslim, Christian and also the other religion come, java community look very feminine in spiritual belief, manifest earth power as a mother. Very wise and prudent.

PS : The picture is loro blonyo from my family collection.

BATIK (Support our local product)

One of traditionally painting and textile dyeing teqnique. Not just about drawing and painting. But every pattern is a symbol, that have a deep meaning. special meanings rooted to the Javanese conceptualization of the universe.

Traditional colours include indigo, dark brown, and white, which represent the three major Hindu Gods (Brahmā, Visnu, and Śiva)

For me, Batik is is a masterpiece of civilization. Why…?. Because each pattern is human ingenuity to describing each of the traits of civilization. For this, the existence of batik , should be preserved so as not to become extinct.

Then, how reinforced batik will survive against modernization and pop culture?

Acculturation

China town in america, India street in Malaysia, Arabic village in Indonesia. Its look like one world without border. Beautifuly view.

When foreign elements coming into a new and different places. They make a process, if each other can not accept, the original culture will keep fixed and no new changes. But if the foreign culture that can be accepted and merged into one with the indigeneous culture its call alcculturation.

When acculturation happen, its need long process. Sometimes the local community that have indigeneous culture see and observe about the foreign culture that come into community. If it’s judged have much in common. The acculturation process will easy to happen.

But, even foreign culture fused with the indigenous culture. Not make, the local community in lost culture condition. The two side make a unity culture complementary to each other.

In proces, acculturation happen with two ways, penetration pasifique and penetration extreme. Penetration pasifique happen peacefully and without coercion. Penetration extreme happen with violence and coercion for example war and occupation conflict.

I think when all the world community have open minded brain.Acculturation will easy happen… Its bad…?? Mybe yes mybe no. No its not bad, because World will have new culture type that make with two or more different culture make a rich type of culture. Yes its bad if in process no balanced position when the acculturation happen. Why? Because the dominant culture will remove and kill undominant culture. And we will lost some type of culture that ever existed in the world. Again the indigenious that not have more authority will missing and lost.

@ symbol

Indonesia lives under a symbol. Many symbols with multi interpretation exist. In a culture, religion etc. It’s amazing...looks empty ...but you can get many philosophic values if u try to learn.
I think symbol tradition since exist when Indonesia people believe about animism and dynamism religions. They have difficulties to interoperate the meaning of life so they use everything to explain it. Animals, trees, colors etc.
A symbol makes easy all parts of life. We do not have a large language. It’s why Indonesian people have a silent culture in interaction with the other. They do not talk much. They say by symbol.
Every time symbols are made, every minute symbol gives from unity of communal culture. Its looks like a fixed value. So the other places have different symbols with different meanings too. By the process symbols look like authority price. They have a power to arranged how a person in communal to think and do in their life.
A symbol is handed down by generation to generation. It’s why we can look at old symbol still exist in a new era. But now we just can look the silhouette of symbol. Because the symbols just look as symbols. Like stone just look as stone. Tree just look as tree. And color just look as color.
In a philosophy, symbols have a meaning more than it seems. Why is it happening in new era…???. Because when the process of regeneration some side is missing. Learn just in outside appearance but not look interpretation from the deep meaning of a symbol.
The big wrong is a learn method. Why…?? We just learn about the history of a symbol but we forget why the symbol is made and why the symbol is chosen. A side is lost. It gives a bad impact for the new generations.
They look a symbol just quaintness, not suitable for a modern life. And no a big problem if we leave it and forget that symbol ever existed. So u can look around now. How strong a symbol gives impact? The answer is nothing.
I just think, if the condition still does every time. Maybe we can be a poor generation. Lost the soul and can’t have strong mind to continue life……
