พระบรมมหาราชวัง - Closed area for clothes

Grand Palace, they says it’s a King place; you need pay 350 bath to enter the door. Yay, and of course polite behavior, no sexy clothing it’s a rule here. To know whether your clothes is polite or not you must go to special room with an officer who checks them.

He will see your clothes deserve it or not. If he says NO, (it’s happen with me) you should go to another room to change clothes. Don’t worry, all clothing is provided and free of charge ( Just leave 200 bath for guarantee ) because , the clothes that you can get is Thailand traditional silky. It’s simply and beautifully.

Indeed every country has its own uniqueness. And the grand palace rule is not too different then my country. Its Eastern way of life.

And we all must follow it because has become generally accepted values that will carry us on into the civilized.

So I go to the other room, choose an orange gold Thai silky and change my clothes. Finally…I am ready to meet the king :)

The Elephant

Night life

I'ts 4 pm when I arrive at ayuthaya train station. Its very hot weather, an old man that sits with me in the train says…oh girl you come in wrong season. Yes, its me. Never search information before. But even the hot weather make my skin look like boiled shrimp -Grilled and silly- I wanna enjoy the night life here.

From lonely planet recommended I get a quiet place to stay. Its good hostel. And, from the girl guest I ask about night life. She give me the package, its very cheap she says, but not for me. So after refresh my boiled shrimp face, I walk outside to the street. And a local man with his wife approached me and asked,


Hey…where are you come from?.

INDONESIA

Are you muslim..?

JUST SMILE

Ohhh My father Is muslim and don’t wory many mosque are build here…

HUMMM ARROUND AYUTHAYA...WANNA SEE NIGHT LIFE HERE...

Ohhh great you can go with me…by my tuk tuk…its cheap price…Bla bla bla bla…

Because im tired…i say OK lets Go…

It's (Masculine) Area

Chao phraya is a name of famous river in Thailand. In the past chao phraya have original name “ mae nam”. Mae nam mean mother of water. Because the feodal influence, the river name change.



Chao phraya means River King. Its a Masculin name. Very different with the past name mother of water. That has a very feminine meaning. Yes, the patriarchy system has always been used in past kingdom, like in Thailand.

Everything -- river, mount, city -- gives names with masculine type . The people of the community believe that masculin names have strong meaning, better than feminine names. And its been that way for a long long time, and became generally accepted culturaly.

Let's Pray

When I opened the door of Thailand, --the smell of flower smeels, joy stick, god stone etc --, one thought that comes in my mind… This is a holy place.



Yes, many religious comunities use a symbol to complete prayers. Smells that come from flowers mean the prayer will give good impact.The smoke from joy stick mean all prayers will be sent to the sky with great speed. And the God stone is a big symbol to make a real figure of God.

It is a different life experience. How the person uses symbols to create a strong spiritual life. For some people –that have logic thinking-- this may be strange. But sometimes things that are not logical, have strong philosophic values that give many good impacts to get joy out of life and peaceful mind. So Let’s Pray…

Monks - ภิกษุ

Monks - ภิกษุ....An ordinary person, leaving all life’s material things, and walking to a side of life that is pure in spirituality. Giving all their life to create a peaceful world. Not with weapons or bombs. But with words of wisdom.

Words of wisdom, is it that simple; maybe. But they believe that if they repeat and repeat again. The words can give a great, great power, to change humanities poor condition and the root of life’s problem …morality…

The Dog’s Paradise

I've been in this city three days now, I am thinking of giving a new name to Bangkok city; The Dog’s Paradise. Yes, its strange name maybe, but i feel that all dogs that live in this city look to be full of happiness.

Just sleeping and enjoying laying down everywhere, the front of a store, near a restaurant etc. Maybe its not a normal dog lifestyle, because I never hear the dogs barking. It makes me curious, so in the evening I try go to the local peoples homes,maybe I can get the answer.

Majority of the local people here live in narrow alleys between buildings and hotels. In less space. Two different side of a face.

So I walk just 500 meters from my hotel. And i see more dogs siting and sleeping in front of homes and that has me surprised, the dog sits in chair with automatic fan and than the owner sits on the floor with manual fan that operated by hand. Its makes me laugh. Oh God, they really care about dogs more than animal activist keepers do (is this a joke? )

I look and feel they have a very unique bond (between dog-owner) that can't be explained by words. So i decided to not ask. And went back to my hotel.

...What the mechanisms that are always lining the street when a big movement happens….???. Yes …steel wire safety bar , attack dogs and the police sights are daunting. But is the sight of police always daunting? The answer is -- no.....
